Lake Home Views

Autumn Rose Interiors recently finished a beautiful Prairie Creek at Beaver Lake renovation in NWA, and we are excited to share the process with you! Our designer Lindsay Layden took the lead role in this project. Lindsay filled us in on all of the steps she had to take, what inspired her, and the challenges, as well as her excitement about the end result. Check out our interview with Lindsay below, where she details this wild “before and after”.

What was the overall goal for your clients at Beaver Lake for their new spaces?

“Their goal for this space was for it to be an inviting, cozy, contemporary lake house meant for entertaining friends, family and guests of all ages. I tried to keep everyone—from their college age kids, to their grandparents, in mind in the styling and useability of the space.”

What inspired you?

“I'm not sure I had any specific style inspire me. In this case it was the view out the window and the stone fireplace that we left as a centerpiece both upstairs and down. I wanted to create an updated, soothing space inspired by natural textures and colors. I wanted you to feel calmed by every room you walked through upstairs, while making the bar and game room a little more fun.”

What were somethings you had to overcome or really “go out of the box” for?

Their timeline! They initially wanted to have the home done within about 3-4 months in the midst of a pandemic. It's nearly impossible to remodel a 5000 sq foot home from top to bottom that quickly without a pandemic. Other than that, the only hurdle was when pandemic production timelines were being extended way too far out for furniture delivery. We eventually got all the furniture there but it took far longer than we had hoped or planned.”

What room is your favorite?

“I'd have to say that my favorite room is the front entry. The coziness you immediately walk into between the fireplace, the art, the coffee/wine bar. It's a very welcoming room. A close runner up is the upstairs deck though. I would spend so much time out there if it was my home!”

Thanks Lindsay!

We love how this modern and earthy lake home turned out. Lindsay really hit this design out of the park! View the galleries below for some IMPRESSIVE before and after shots! The dark and moody furniture and detailed accessories really help to showcase the light and airy feel of this home. The rooms flow nicely, and each space is ready for its intended purpose! There are lots of nooks in this home for small (or large!) entertainment spaces as well as quiet stowaways.

This serene lakeside view from the back deck is cozy and ready to entertain friends and family. There is also a private sitting area to the right with comfy chairs and even an outdoor rug. We could picture enjoying dinner from this back deck, unwinding from the bustle of a busy week.
